Where I stand.

Three commitments grounded in common sense, fiscal responsibility, and the character that makes Hartwell County home.

Roads and infrastructure in Hartwell County

Roads That Work

Hartwell County's roads connect families to schools, employers, and neighbors. I will prioritize the maintenance backlog with a disciplined, multi-year plan — fixing what we have before committing to new projects, and making sure every dollar is accountable to taxpayers.

Responsible Budgets

County government should live within its means, just as our families do. I will push for full transparency in county spending, competitive bidding on contracts, and reserve funds that protect services when times get hard — without reaching for a tax increase as the first answer.

Preserving What We Love

Growth is part of life, but how we grow defines us. I believe in thoughtful land-use decisions that protect our rural heritage, keep neighborhoods livable, and ensure that the Hartwell County our children inherit still feels like the one we grew up in.

Meet the candidate

Rooted here. Running for us.

Eleanor Whitfield was born and raised in Hartwell County. A third-generation resident, she attended Hartwell public schools, earned her degree in public administration, and returned home to build a career in local government finance — spending over two decades managing budgets and public accounts for county agencies across the region.

She and her husband have raised their three children here, coached youth sports at the community center, and worshipped at the same church her grandmother attended. When Eleanor looks at Hartwell County, she sees the place she has always chosen — and she intends to keep it worth choosing. Her campaign is grounded in one conviction: that honest, attentive service to neighbors is the highest form of leadership a county commissioner can offer.

Voices of support.

Hartwell County neighbors who know Eleanor and trust her to serve.

Eleanor has spent her entire career making sure public money goes where it's supposed to. That kind of integrity doesn't come from a campaign — it comes from a lifetime of showing up.

Small business owner, Hartwell County
I've watched Eleanor serve on every committee, show up to every town hall, and ask the hard questions. She won't give you a polished non-answer — she'll give you the truth.
Sandra Beaulieu

We need a commissioner who understands that protecting the land and keeping services affordable aren't opposing goals. Eleanor understands both, and she'll fight for both.
