City Council, District 4 · Riverside 2026

It's time for all of us.

Riverside deserves a council member who shows up for every neighborhood — not just the loudest voices in the room. Lucia Garcia is running to make sure District 4 works for all of us.

The platform

What we're fighting for.

Every priority on this platform came from conversations at doors, community centers, and kitchen tables across District 4 — not from donors.

Invest in Every Neighborhood

Too many blocks in District 4 have been waiting years for basic improvements — repaired sidewalks, working streetlights, and maintained parks. Maya will push for a transparent infrastructure budget and a public tracking dashboard so every resident can see exactly where their tax dollars are going and when work will reach their street.

Open, Accountable Government

City Hall decisions should be made in the open. Maya will champion expanded public comment windows, plain-language budget summaries, and regular town halls in District 4 — so residents have a real seat at the table before votes are cast, not after the fact.

Stronger Local Services

Fast emergency response, well-staffed libraries, dependable public transit — these are the foundations of a community that works. Maya will fight to fully fund the services District 4 families rely on every day and hold every city department accountable for response times and outcomes.

Why I'm running.

I've lived in District 4 for over twelve years. I raised my kids here, coached youth soccer at Fairmount Park, and spent six years on the Riverside Neighborhood Council watching our community's needs get deprioritized year after year. I got tired of attending meetings and leaving with the same promises and no results.

I believe city government should be straightforward and fair — and that a council member's most important job is to listen. If you trust me with this seat, I'll show up at every door, return every call, and fight for every block in District 4. This campaign belongs to this community, and together we're going to prove that when neighbors organize, things actually change.
